"EU Files Antitrust Charges Against MasterCard," at 1130 GMT, July 9, misstated that interchange fees for credit and debit card transactions in Poland can exceed 1.5% in the fifth paragraph. The error was repeated in the update at 1150 GMT and in the second update at 1217 GMT.

Interchange fees vary widely across the European Union, with levels ranging from less than 0.2% in the Netherlands to more than 1.5% in Germany. Poland introduced a 0.5% cap on interchange fees last year.
