HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- Macau casino operator Sands China Ltd. (SCHYY, 1928.HK) will join Hong Kong's benchmark Hang Seng Index, the compiler of the index said Thursday after its latest quarterly review. The index compiler said the total number of constituent stocks in the benchmark index will rise to 49 from 48 following the addition of the local unit of U.S.-based Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS). In addition, the index compiler said it will add New China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (1336.HK, 601336.SH) into the China Enterprises Index, which tracks the movement of China-registered companies listed in Hong Kong. At the same time, the compiler plans to remove China Railway Construction Corp. (1186.HK, 601186.SH) from the China Enterprises Index, keeping the number of companies on the index at 40.
