Kansas City Southern Promotes Jeffrey M. Songer to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Kansas City Southern (KCS) (NYSE: KSU) announced today the
promotion of Jeffrey M. Songer from senior vice president
engineering and chief transportation officer to executive vice
president and chief operating officer. In addition to his
responsibilities for transportation and engineering, he is now also
responsible for the mechanical function. Mr. Songer reports to KCS
president Patrick J. Ottensmeyer.

to operational excellence as senior vice president engineering and
chief transportation officer,” said Mr. Ottensmeyer. “This
promotion to executive vice president and chief operating officer,
along with the alignment of the transportation, engineering and
mechanical functions, will allow for improved coordination of all
the key operating functions under Jeff’s organization.”
Mr. Songer joined the company in 2005 and was promoted to vice
president and chief engineer in 2012 and to senior vice president
engineering and chief transportation officer in 2014. Prior to
joining the company, he spent 12 years in the construction and
finance industries. He holds a master of business administration
and a bachelor of arts in engineering from the University of
Kansas.
