“After writing my memoir, Fortunate Son I discovered how much I
enjoy looking back on the process of writing my entire catalog of
songs. What makes this sort of evening for Chase card members
special is that I was able to share the stories behind the
inspiration for these songs, with fans,” said John Fogerty.
The Playback Experience is a music-driven concept built
around intimate live events staged in historic recording
studios across America, offering a limited number of fans the
exclusive opportunity to experience a playback, from the
original masters, of landmark albums and the most influential
tracks ever recorded. These unique
events provide direct access to the artists who
created them including a conversation session and intimate
live performance.
“The experience offers Chase cardmembers access to get up close
and personal with iconic artists in a truly unique way,” said David
Gold, general manager Chase Card Services. “We are pleased to have
worked with John Fogerty to celebrate the launch of his memoir last
week and bring this one of a kind opportunity to our cardholders.”
This is Chase’s second event with the Playback Experience. The
first was with Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys in Los Angeles in
2014.
Fogerty was songwriter, lead singer, and lead guitarist for
Creedence Clearwater Revival and wrote, sang, and produced the
classics "Born on the Bayou," "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," and
so many more. Fogerty has been named one of the 100 Greatest
Songwriters (No. 40), 100 Greatest Guitarists (No. 40) and one of
the 100 Greatest Singers (No. 72), by Rolling Stone and
his most recent album was named one of RS's 10 Best Albums of
2013. He has earned induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,
the Songwriters Hall of Fame and now adds respected author to his
accolades.
This event was held as part of Inside Access from Chase, which
offers eligible Chase cardholders once-in-a-lifetime experiences,
from celebrity meet and greets to private culinary and cultural
events to behind-the-scenes previews to the worlds of sports and
fashion.
