Gouda - Royal Imtech N.V. (European technical services provider) announces that the successful European collaboration between the Volkswagen Group and Imtech continues. Europe's biggest vehicle manufacturer equips its new Crafter production site in the Polish town of Wrzesnia with building technology from Imtech.

Gerard van de Aast, CEO Royal Imtech: 'We are very pleased that Volkswagen has awarded us a significant new contract in Poland. It provides us with the opportunity to continue to serve one of our key customers in the German automotive industry. We appreciate the trust in our company to play an important role in the construction of a new factory for Volkswagen. The automotive industry is an important market for us where we continue to offer our expertise, experience and technical services."

Imtech won the contract in close cooperation between the Imtech entities in Poland, Hungary and Germany. We have been awarded multiple tender packages. Imtech Poland was granted construction of the site's ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, compressed air and internal and external hydrant installations. Imtech Hungary is responsible for the ventilation system in the assembly hall.

By 2016, the new Volkswagen site in Wrzesnia will employ 3,000 people assembling the new model of the VW Crafter van. The construction of the site has already started and should be ready by the second half of 2016.

This major project marks the continuation of the close collaboration between Imtech and the Volkswagen Group. Over the past few weeks, Imtech Poland also successfully modernised engine production at Volkswagen's Polkowice site.
