LONDON, Oct. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- International
Game Technology PLC (IGT) (NYSE: IGT) announced that Joseph (Jay) S. Gendron, the Company's Senior
Vice President, North America, has
been inducted into the Lottery Industry Hall of Fame as a member of
the Class of 2015. Gendron was honored at the induction ceremony,
which took place during the North American Association of State and
Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) Annual Conference and Trade Show on
Oct. 15, in Dallas, Texas.
"Building customer relationships and converting those
relationships into successful lotteries are part of Jay Gendron's genetic makeup. For 20 years, Jay
has brought a set of values and commitment to customer service that
has helped redefine the lottery industry," said Michael Chambrello, CEO of North America Lottery
for IGT. "Jay has made it his business to personally get to
know each of his customers and ensure their business objectives are
met. He has demonstrated trust, integrity and responsibility –
qualities that have made him a respected lottery professional both
within IGT and the lottery industry."
The Lottery Industry Hall of Fame was founded by the Public
Gaming Research Institute in 2005 as a means of honoring those who
have done the most to make the lottery industry the great success
that it is today. The recipients of this award are all a credit to
the industry and join a select and distinguished group of world
lottery professionals. Membership is reserved for lottery
professionals who have promoted excellence and integrity throughout
their careers. Each year, former inductees nominate and vote on the
final recipients.
In his current role, Gendron is responsible for all IGT lottery
customers in both the U.S. and Canada. He serves some of the industry's
largest lotteries, ensuring that resources, products, services, and
retail innovation support our customers' diverse and unique
business models.
Gendron began his career at legacy GTECH (GTECH) in 1995 as an
Assistant Account Executive, and was later promoted to Regional
Account Director followed by Account General Manager. He was able
to build an admirable reputation that earned him positions of
increasing responsibility in various areas of the Company. These
various positions gave Gendron the experience needed to understand
the challenges complex lotteries face.
Gendron previously worked as GTECH Director of Video Operations
before becoming Vice President of Global Sales, Gaming Solutions.
In 2007, he was promoted to Regional Vice President, Eastern Region
Operations where he oversaw GTECH's largest region for seven years.
In 2014, he became Senior Vice President, North America, where he utilizes his extensive
background of expertise to influence the lottery industry.
Gendron is a graduate of Saint Anselm
College in Manchester, N.H.
and currently resides in Rhode
Island with his wife, Leah, and their two sons.
