LONDON, June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- International Game
Technology PLC ("IGT") (NYSE:IGT) announced that Sylvia Dietz, IGT Vice President of Global
Marketing, Gaming, has won Industry Achiever of the Year (Online or
Land-Based) at the sixth annual Women in Gaming Awards. The title
was awarded to Dietz during the awards gala at the Jumeirah Carlton
Tower Hotel in London on
June 5, 2015.
The Industry Achiever of the Year category is awarded to the
most influential woman in the industry who has made a significant
contribution to the success of her organization, has shown
dedication and commitment, and has influenced the development of
the gaming industry. A panel of industry judges selected Dietz as
the winner among seven finalists in this category.
"Sylvia's exceptional leadership and consistently successful
execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns have ensured that
our products and services are always top-of-mind with our
audiences," said Victor
Duarte, IGT Chief Global Product Officer, Gaming.
"We're extremely proud of Sylvia's accomplishments, and
especially of this well-deserved recognition from the
industry."
Sylvia entered the industry with ATRONIC in 1998 as Management
Trainee, and quickly moved to a marketing role, where she took on
increasing responsibilities with a growing international scope. She
became a Managing Director of ATRONIC International GmbH in
December 2008, and was appointed
Senior Director, Global Marketing for ATRONIC's subsequent entity,
SPIELO International, in November
2010. In June 2013, her role
grew to include responsibilities for the Company's Interactive
business unit. Recently, she was promoted to Vice President of
Global Marketing, Gaming.
Three IGT women were finalists in five categories at the 2015
event, garnering a total of six nominations, including two
additional nominations for Dietz (Marketing Excellence Award and
Inspiration of the Year). Cindy
Hovey, Senior Director, Product Management VLT, was a
finalist in two categories (Industry Achiever of the Year and
Innovator of the Year), and Dubravka
Burda, Vice President, Global Game Development, who was the
winner of last year's Leader of the Year (Land-Based) award, was a
finalist again this year in the same category.
In addition to recognizing outstanding women in the gaming
industry, the Women in Gaming Awards also support Breakthrough
Breast Cancer, a U.K. charity committed to breast cancer research,
campaigning and education (www.breakthrough.org.uk).
