Honda Sets All-Time Fiscal Year Records for Automobile Production Worldwide, Overseas, in North America, Asia, and China

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced a summary of automobile
production, Japan domestic sales, and export results for the fiscal
year ended March 31, 2016 as well as for the month of March
2016.
Fiscal Year 2016 (fiscal year ended March 31, 2016)
Production in Japan experienced a year-on-year decrease for the
second consecutive year (since Fiscal Year 2015).
Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year
increase for the fourth consecutive year (since Fiscal Year 2013),
setting an all-time record for fiscal year production. This
includes all-time records for fiscal year production in North
America, Asia, and China.
Worldwide production experienced a year-on-year increase for the
fourth consecutive year (since Fiscal Year 2013), setting an
all-time record for fiscal year production.
March 2016
Production in Japan for the month of March 2016 experienced a
year-on-year increase for the third consecutive month (since
January 2016).
Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year
increase for the 13th consecutive month (since March 2015), setting
record high production for the month of March. This includes record
high production in Asia, and China.
Worldwide production experienced a year-on-year increase for the
10th consecutive month (since June 2015), also setting record high
production for the month of March.
Fiscal Year 2016 (fiscal year ended March 31, 2016)
Total domestic automobile sales in the Japanese market for the
fiscal year 2016 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the second
consecutive year (since Fiscal Year 2015).
Sales of new vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year
decrease for the second consecutive year (since Fiscal Year
2015).
Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year decrease for the
second consecutive year (since Fiscal Year 2015).
Vehicle registrations - excluding mini-vehicles
Fit was the industry's third best-selling car among new vehicle
registrations for the fiscal year 2016 with sales of 112,007 units.
VEZEL was the industry's ninth best-selling car with sales of
69,018 units.
Mini-vehicles - under 660cc
N-BOX was the industry's top selling car among mini-vehicles for
the fiscal year 2016 with sales of 172,617 units. N-WGN was the
industry's eighth best-selling car with sales of 84,268 units.
March 2016
Total domestic automobile sales in the Japanese market for the
month of March 2016 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the
fourth consecutive month (since December 2015).
New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year increase for
the second consecutive month (since February 2016).
Sales of mini-vehicles experienced a year-on-year decrease for the
17th consecutive month (since November 2014).
Vehicle registrations - excluding mini-vehicles
Fit was the industry's third best-selling car among new vehicle
registrations for the month of March 2016 with sales of 15,545
units. VEZEL was the industry's ninth best-selling car with sales
of 8,969 units.
Mini-vehicles - under 660cc
N-BOX was the industry's top-selling car in the mini-vehicle
category for the month of March 2016 with sales of 25,542 units.
N-WGN was the industry's fifth best-selling car with sales of
12,737 units.
Fiscal Year 2016 (fiscal year ended March 31, 2016)
Total exports from Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for
the first time in 5 years (since Fiscal Year 2011).
March 2016
Total exports from Japan in March 2016 experienced a year-on-year
increase for the ninth consecutive month (since July 2015).
