“The health of small businesses in America is an important issue
for our company and the nation’s economy,” said Stephanie Bush,
executive vice president, Small Commercial insurance at The
Hartford. “Partnering with this preeminent research team helps us
better understand the role that we can play in advocating for small
business owners and continuing to meet their evolving needs.”
Produced twice a year, The Hartford/UCLA Anderson Forecast Small
Business Project will draw on The Hartford’s data, national surveys
of small business owners, and analysis by UCLA Anderson Forecast
economists. The research will explore themes, such as employment,
the impact of technology, demographics, risk attitudes, and
regulation of small businesses.
“The continued economic growth of this country is reliant on the
success of small businesses, and we must continue to support them,”
said Alfred E. Osborne, Jr., senior associate dean, professor and
faculty director, The Harold and Pauline Price Center for
Entrepreneurship & Innovation at UCLA Anderson. “We are proud
to collaborate with The Hartford on this initiative that further
reinforces the endeavors of the UCLA Anderson Forecast and its
understanding of entrepreneurship and the determinants of small
business success.”
Details about the new partnership were announced at the 2016
September Quarterly Forecast Conference hosted by UCLA Anderson
School of Management in Los Angeles on Sept. 28.
Serving small businesses for more than 200 years, The Hartford

Anderson Forecast Small Business Project follows five years of The
Hartford’s Small Business Success Study.
