Secures Merchandising and Marketing Leadership at Retailer

hhgregg (or the Company) (NYSE:HGG), a leading appliances, electronics and furniture retailer, has secured and promoted top-level talent into critical positions within the company that is making aggressive efforts at growth while keeping a keen eye on profitability with Fine Lines specialty store additions, inventory controls and distribution efficiencies.

Chris Sutton, Senior Vice President of Marketing

Formerly the Vice President of Marketing, Chris will have oversight on all marketing initiatives as well as hhgregg’s growing e-commerce channel. Chris will continue to lead the company’s digital and traditional marketing, creative, media planning, social and mobile initiatives, PR and CRM. All of these efforts ultimately drive customer acquisition, retention, and retain loyalty. In addition, Chris will continue to provide strategic direction to hhgregg’s Customer Insights Group that focuses on effectively leveraging customer data, feedback, research, competitive and industry observations. During his nine-year tenure with hhgregg, the company has grown from 67 stores to 220 and annual revenues of approximately $2 billion. Chris previously worked in advertising as well as brand marketing for The Walt Disney Company. He resides in Indianapolis, IN, and has an MBA from Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

New hires include:

Andrew Terry, Senior Vice President of Merchandising for Appliances

Hired in July 2015, Andrew joined hhgregg from LG Electronics USA where he garnered a wealth of appliance and sales expertise. His roles with LG included Director of Sales positions as well as National Account Manager for large retail clients. Andrew graduated from the University of Vermont Magna Cum Laude with dual degrees: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in International Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Geography. Andrew has been critical in the sustainable growth of our appliance business over the past several months.

Mabelle Lim, Vice President of Merchandising for Home Décor

Lim joined hhgregg in July, 2016, and brings extensive experience in the furniture and home furnishings categories. Before joining hhgregg, Mabelle held the title of Divisional Merchandise Manager at Pier 1 Imports in Fort Worth, Texas. At Pier 1, Mabelle had direct involvement in growing the furniture categories while utilizing her leadership skills to be a strategic business partner with omni-channel strategies, e-commerce, marketing, and global vendor management. Prior to Pier 1, Mabelle successfully held multiple roles for Arhaus Furniture and Storehouse Inc. Mabelle graduated Summa cum Laude from University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, and holds her MBA with a concentration in International Business from Oakland University.

Matt Phillips, Senior Vice President of Merchandising for Electronics

hhgregg’s most recent hire, before coming to hhgregg on July 25, 2016, Matt was focused on delivering a 66% revenue growth for Consumer Electronics at Groupon in the United States. As the Divisional Merchandising Manager, Matt utilized his effective leadership to pilot new systems and initiatives as well as develop a culture of positive job satisfaction. Prior to Groupon, Matt spent 8 years at Best Buy where he successfully held multiple roles in the Merchandising Department. Matt graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN where he double majored in Marketing and Operations Management.
