FARNBOROUGH, England--General Electric Co.'s (GE) aviation unit
expects $30 billion in orders at the Farnborough air show, its
chief executive said Monday.
David Joyce, president and chief executive of GE Aviation, made
the comments during a media event at the start of the biennial
show, which begins Monday.
The CFM International SA a joint venture between GE and Safran
SA confirmed early Monday it has won a deal to supply nearly 300
engines to power Airbus Group NV (AIR.FR) A320 jets for easyJet PLC
(EZJ.LN), with a value of up to $3.3 billion.
The Wall Street Journal reported that CFM had won the deal,
beating out United Technologies Corp.'s Pratt & Whitney to
power the aircraft.
