Brand Content Studio GET Creative Launches First Travel Campaign with Interactive Content

USA TODAY NETWORK, part of Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI), today announced the launch and distribution of their first branded VR campaign for travel with Tourism Australia, incorporating interactive content created by the company’s branded content studio, GET Creative.

As a launch partner with GET Creative, which was recently announced in March, Tourism Australia wanted a publisher platform with a large distribution to reach international travelers. USA TODAY NETWORK currently reaches more than 100 million readers each month.

The campaign promotes Australia’s wildlife through an interactive map produced by GET Creative which showcases Tourism Australia’s VR and 360 videos, allowing viewers to experience four destinations along Australia’s coast. The campaign launches on USA TODAY’s online and mobile site and on the VR Stories by USA TODAY app.

“Australia’s coastline abounds with natural wonders, from spectacular beaches, reefs and islands to the many opportunities for up close encounters with our unique wildlife. With this campaign, and the virtual reality videos, we want to bring a more vivid glimpse of these very special places and experiences to Americans. With more flights to Australia than ever before, it has never been a better time to visit and we offer USA TODAY’s readers these videos as inspiration to make Australia their next vacation destination,” said Jane Whitehead, Vice President, The Americas, Tourism Australia.

Tourism Australia will release additional content with USA TODAY NETWORK on May 23rd to promote Australia’s landmarks and beaches, also through an interactive map with VR and 360 videos available to readers.

“We’re proud to be working with Tourism Australia’s on this creative campaign,” said Kelly Andresen, VP of Branded Content and head of GET Creative, USA TODAY NETWORK. “Coupled with our expansive digital audience, we believe this campaign will drive awareness for Australia’s amazing tourism options while providing our readers with innovative and engaging content. Travel is one the best industries to utilize VR and 360 videos as it has the ability to transport people to another place unlike any other medium.”

Tourism Australia’s interactive content (http://www.usatoday.com/pages/interactives/sponsor-story/tourism-australia-wildlife/) follows the recently launched first branded VR content by GET Creative for Honda’s “Fastest Seat in Sports” campaign.
