FedEx Corp. named Udo Lange, a veteran of global logistics
businesses, as executive vice president and chief operating officer
of FedEx Trade Networks, the company's forwarding and customs
brokerage arm.
Lange has worked at DHL Global Forwarding, Exel and Schenker
over the past 30 years and was most recently a senior executive at
LSG Sky Chefs, the airline food services division of Deutsche
Lufthansa AG.
He joins a Fedex forwarding operation that is a subsidiary of
the FedEx Express division. FedEx does not break out specific
figures for FedEx Trade Networks but the business makes up a
relatively small part of the express segment, and is counted within
"other" operations in company reports that include FedEx Supply
Chain Systems and that together totaled $1.5 billion in revenue in
the 2015 fiscal year that ended May 31.
Lange has worked for Europe-based operators throughout his
career, which began with Germany's Roland Berger Strategy
Consultants in the 1990s. He later held senior positions with
Germany-based forwarder Schenker in the U.S. and with Exel and DHL
Global Forwarding in the U.S. and Germany.
