BEIJING--Ford Motor Co. (F) said Monday its sales in China totaled 52,440 vehicles in June, an 18% rise from a year earlier, due to strong sales of its new Focus model. The U.S. auto maker sold 277,322 vehicles in China in the first half, up 1% from a year earlier, the company said in a statement. Changan Ford Mazda Automotive Ltd., Ford's passenger vehicle joint venture in China, sold a record 37,038 Ford-brand passenger vehicles in June, of which 15,000 were the new Focus model. The monthly tally marks a 28% rise from a year earlier and is the third straight monthly record. Sales at Jiangling Motors Corp., the company's commercial-vehicle joint venture in China, fell 1% to 15,093 vehicles, the statement said. Write to Yajun Zhang at yajun.zhang@dowjones.com
