Nine underground apprentice mechanics graduate from comprehensive 15-week training program

Nine new PECO underground apprentice mechanics celebrated their completion of a rigorous 15-week training program, today − joining the front lines to ensure safe, reliable, affordable and clean energy and energy services for customers. More than 700 people applied for this year’s program, which develops the fundamental skills new apprentice mechanics need to work safely on the company’s advanced electric distribution system.

     

The graduates include:

      Phillip Bennink of Abington, PA Richard Llamas of Philadelphia, PA Kyree Cox of Glenside, PA Abdul-Azziz Mujahid of Philadelphia, PA Jamaal Holloway of Glenside, PA L. Jordan Whitehouse of Delran, NJ Kevin Jacoby of Maple Shade, NJ David Yannelli of Swarthmore Woods, PA Matt Kissel of Aston, PA

The comprehensive program included enhanced simulations to provide candidates with real-life work conditions, field maintenance and repair skills. The program focuses on electric distribution fundamentals, electric theory, circuit design, emergency response, safety and first aid. Candidates also develop an essential understanding of the company’s advanced electric distribution equipment.
