Today’s event was the first of more than 30 volunteer events for employees focused on environment, education and community enrichment planned at nonprofits across central Maryland throughout the month of April

Employees from across Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) are celebrating National Volunteer Week (April 12-18) by participating in nearly 30 employee-led service projects in central Maryland and the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. metro area throughout the month of April. The month of service events kicked off today at Real Food Farm in Baltimore City. BGE employee volunteers completed landscaping and planting projects, refreshed signage and worked in the hoop houses, weeding and gardening, to prepare them for the spring. Real Food Farm is Civic Works’ innovative urban agricultural enterprise engaged in growing fresh produce on eight acres in and around Clifton Park in northeast Baltimore.
