Biagiotti will serve as BGE’s lead customer advocate focusing on best-in-class customer service

Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) recently announced that Robert D. Biagiotti, P.E., has been named vice president and chief customer officer (CCO) for the company. In this position, Biagiotti will strengthen BGE’s commitment to best-in-class customer service while helping customers meet their energy management needs. As BGE’s lead customer advocate, he is responsible for ensuring a comprehensive view of all customer-facing functions throughout the company and fostering continued, sustainable improvements in customer service.

Biagiotti has held numerous technical and leadership positions throughout his 24 year tenure with BGE. Prior to being named chief customer officer, Biagiotti served as the vice president of gas distribution, where he was responsible for the safe operation of BGE’s gas system including gas engineering and planning, regional gas operations, design services, damage prevention, regulatory compliance and integrity management functions.

Biagiotti earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola College of Baltimore. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Maryland, a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a past chairman of the Baltimore Chapter of the IEEE-Power Engineering Society, and a past member of the Southeastern Electric Exchange's Power Quality and Reliability Committee. Biagiotti is currently a member of the American Gas Association’s (AGA) Customer Service Committee and is also a past member of the AGA’s Operations Management Committee.

Biagiotti was a member of the 2004 and 2006 Constellation Energy Dragon Boat teams in support of Catholic Charities and served as Chairman of BGE’s United Way Campaign for 2013 and 2014. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Howard County Community Action Council and College Bound. He is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Maryland, Howard County.
