The San Onofre Community Engagement Panel (CEP) meets Nov. 10 in Dana Point to discuss preparations to decommission the San Onofre nuclear plant.

The meeting will focus on topics the panel has addressed in its first three years, and where it should head in the future. The CEP will hear perspectives from Southern California Edison, panel members and local communities. In addition, the CEP will hear from guest speakers representing organized labor, local emergency responders and San Clemente Green about their perspectives on decommissioning.

The regular quarterly meeting will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Suites Hotel, 34402 Pacific Coast Highway, Dana Point. Staffed information booths will be open from 4:30-5:30 p.m. There will be a public comment period and the meeting will be live-streamed via songscommunity.com.

SCE announced in June 2013 that it would retire San Onofre Units 2 and 3, and had begun the process to decommission the facility. SCE has established core principles of safety, stewardship and engagement to guide decommissioning.
