Walt Disney Co. (DIS) will move the release of "Star Wars: Episode VIII" to December 2017 from May 2017, Deadline.com reported Wednesday.

The May 26 spot will go to Disney's next installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, previously slated for July 7, 2017, the report said.
