Walt Disney Co.'s (DIS) recently acquired multi-channel network Maker Studios is expected to lay off about 10% of its 380 employees as early as this week, Variety reported Monday, citing people with the company.

It isn't clear what is prompting the layoffs, the report said.

"Maker's business is constantly evolving, and we routinely reassess our internal resources and make strategic adjustments, reducing staff in some areas while actively hiring in others," the company said in a statement.
