De La Rue Signs Bank of England Banknote Printing Contract

LONDON--De La Rue PLC (DLAR.LN) Monday said it had signed a new
10-year contract with the Bank of England to print its sterling
banknotes, without disclosing financial details.
The confirmation comes after the central bank announced that De
La Rue had been identified as the "preferred bidder" for the
banknote printing contract on Sept. 8.
"We are delighted with the Bank of England's decision to award
this prestigious and important contract to De La Rue, following a
rigorous selection procedure," De La Rue Chairman Philip Rogerson
said.
Shares at 1215 GMT, up 13 pence, or 2.8%, at 488 pence, valuing
the company at GBP493.3 million ($793 million).
