By Aries Poon TAIPEI--Barclays PLC (BARC.LN) said Monday it set up a new Taiwan-based equities research team to cover the domestic non-technology sectors and small market capitalization Hong Kong-listed companies, as the U.K. bank continues to build up its presence in equities in Asia. Barclays said it recruited three analysts from Credit Suisse Group AG for the team. Sidney Yeh has been appointed head of Taiwan non-tech research and a director of Asia excluding-Japan equity research. Mr. Yeh, who covers the chemical and material sectors, previously served as a director of equity research at Credit Suisse in Taiwan since 2006. Prior to that he worked at Macquarie and UBS. The U.K. bank also said it recruited former Credit Suisse analysts David Liao and Grace Li to the non-tech team in Taiwan. Write to Aries Poon at aries.poon@dowjones.com
