The California Public Employees' Retirement System said it would
withhold votes from nine Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) board members,
including Chief Executive Mike Duke, Reuters reported
Wednesday.
In addition to Duke, CalPERS plans to vote against Chairman
Robson Walton, former CEO Lee Scott, Jim Walton, Christopher
Williams, Linda Wolf, James Breyer, Douglas Daft and Michele Burns,
according to Reuters.
The plan comes amid controversy over allegations that Wal-Mart
de Mexico used bribery to expand its business.
Earlier this week, the California State Teachers' Retirement
System said it planned to vote against the entire Wal-Mart
board.
