McKesson Corp. (MCK) named two new board members, increasing its
board size to 11 from nine, a move the drug wholesaler said is a
continuation of ongoing corporate-governance improvements.
Clorox Co. (CLX) Chief Executive Donald R. Knauss and AMN
Healthcare Services Inc. (AHS) Chief Executive Susan Salka will
join the board, effective Oct. 20. Last week, Clorox announced that
Benno Dorer will become CEO effective Nov. 20, with Mr. Knauss
continuing with the company as executive chairman.
Ten of McKesson's board members will be independent.
In January, McKesson's board approved additional powers for its
lead independent director, and in June the company became one of a
few major U.S. companies to provide "proxy access" powers that make
it easier for investors to oust directors by listing competing
candidates on official company ballots.
