PARIS -(Dow Jones)- Aircraft leasing company CIT Group Inc. (CIT) ordered 50 A320neo airliners from Airbus, the civilian aircraft unit of European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. EADS NV (EAD.FR), Airbus said Tuesday in a statement. The A320neo is the largest model in Airbus's recently launched and more fuel efficient A320Neo series, which incorporates new engines. CIT will announce later Tuesday which engines it will choose for those aircraft. The list price for the order is about $4.6 billion, though customers often negotiate lower prices. So far, Airbus has booked a total 544 firm orders and commitments for its newly launched A320neo family. -By Inti Landauro, Dow Jones Newswires; +33 1 4017 1740; inti.ladnauro@dowjones.com (David Pearson contributed to this article.)
