Carnival Corp. on Wednesday named travel industry veteran
Christine Duffy president of its largest cruise brand.
Ms. Duffy, currently chief executive of trade group Cruise Lines
International Association, will head the 24-ship Carnival Cruise
Line starting Feb. 1. Ms. Duffy will report to Chief Executive
Arnold Donald.
Carnival, the world's largest cruise-ship operator, owns cruise
lines including Princess, Cunard and Holland America.
Ms. Duffy has more than three decades of experience in the
travel industry, starting out as a travel agent in Philadelphia.
She served as chief executive of Maritz Travel before becoming
chief executive of CLIA in 2010.
Carnival is expected to report results for the quarter ended in
November on Friday, and analysts are expecting the company to
report that its revenue grew 4%. The company has posted strong
results in recent quarters as booking trends have improved. The
company raised its outlook for the year in September.
