MELVILLE, N.Y., April 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Signifying an
ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, Canon
U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital
imaging solutions, is proud to announce that the company will
continue its partnership with the Arbor
Day Foundation in 2016 by supporting its Community Tree
Recovery Program, which distributes trees to help rebuild
communities affected by natural disasters. Since the beginning of
the partnership, Canon U.S.A. has
helped contribute to the planting of over 360,000 trees to impacted
national forests and communities throughout the United States as a result of its support
of the Arbor Day Foundation
"With both Earth Day and
Arbor Day on the horizon, there is no
better time to continue to promote environmental sustainability and
engage in community outreach than right now," said Toyo Kuwamura, executive vice president and
general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon
U.S.A., Inc. "We take great pride
in our ongoing partnership with the Arbor
Day Foundation and are honored to continue working with them
to help improve the quality of life in areas that have faced
significant disasters."
For 2016, the Arbor Day Foundation
has active Community Tree Recovery projects in Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New
Jersey, New York,
Oklahoma, Texas and Washington. These projects are
assisting communities in recovering from natural disasters such as
tornados, hurricanes, fire and flooding. This year a new campaign
was launched to help the citizens of Rochester, New York recover from the loss of
all of their ash trees due to the invasive emerald ash borer
beetle.
"We thank Canon for their ongoing support of our Community Tree
Recovery program. Trees are assets to a community when properly
planted and maintained," said Dan
Lambe, president, Arbor Day
Foundation. "They help to improve the visual appeal of a
neighborhood or shopping districts, increase property values,
reduce home cooling costs, remove air pollutants, and provide
wildlife habitat, among many other benefits."
Through the Canon Forest Program, which supports the Community
Tree Recovery Program, Canon helped contribute to the planting of
one tree for every eligible imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunction
system sold until reaching the goal of 50,000 trees.
Canon continues to be dedicated to its philosophy of

environmental responsibility. Through Kyosei, Canon seeks to
