CACI International Inc (NYSE MKT: CACI) announced today that Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board Dr. J.P. (Jack) London gave the opening keynote address for the U.S. Army Cadet Command Mission Command Workshop on September 23, 2016 at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Speaking to more than 700 attendees, Dr. London delivered a compelling address on cultivating the character investment in individuals and organizations.

Held September 23-27, the 2016 U.S. Army Cadet Command Mission Command Workshop brings together all of the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Professors of Military Science and ROTC Brigade Command teams from across the country. They are responsible for training 30,000 cadets who become U.S. Army officers after graduation. The ROTC commissions over 5,000 lieutenants annually and constitutes more than 70 percent of the Army’s officer corps.

In a speech entitled “The Character Investment,” Dr. London shared case studies and observations, culled from over 40 years of both military and industry experience, on how acting ethically and with good character is critical for developing the next generation of military leaders. According to Dr. London, “Attitude, integrity, and accountability are three attributes of a person’s character that are the most useful to understand and to develop in individuals,” but that “there’s no magic formula to guarantee good organizational or individual character. You need to focus on the culture and character messages … and you have to work at it, persistently and with priority.” He also reminded the audience that “as educators and role models of good character, there’s an opportunity to make a real impact on your cadets at the earliest stage of their careers and lives.”

A proponent of ethical behavior in today’s government, military, and corporate environments, Dr. London is regularly invited to speak in public venues and mediums about character and ethics. He was awarded recognition as one of the Most Influential People in Business Ethics by the Ethisphere Institute in 2014. In Dr. London’s book, Character: The Ultimate Success Factor, he illustrates how good character is the foundation for performance excellence.

“I am honored to have given a keynote address at the Cadet Command Mission Command Workshop,” Dr. London said. “These professors of military science and brigade command teams are an elite group responsible for developing the Army’s future leaders of character for the nation. They should be lauded for their personal commitment to teaching the highest standards of good character, standards which ensure the accomplishment of the Army’s critical missions.”

Dr. London also spoke to Ft. Knox’s Women’s Mentorship Program on character-based leadership and the role of character in the mentoring relationship. Open to all military, civilians, retirees, and family members of the Fort Knox surrounding community, the program provides personal and professional growth through female mentorship.

According to CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Asbury, “Dr. London’s ability to captivate an audience is never more powerful than when he is speaking of the importance of character.
