Former Bank of England Governor Mervyn King has been a senior adviser to Citigroup Inc. (C) since around April, the Financial Times reported Friday.

According to the report, Mr. King "sought no publicity" for his Citigroup role, according to the people close to the situation.

The FT report said Citigroup declined to comment and Mr. King didn't respond to a request for comment.

Mr. King led the BOE from 2003 until 2013.
