Polish Bank Handlowy 3Q Consolidated Net Profit +32% On Core Business

WARSAW -(Dow Jones)- Polish Bank Handlowy SA's (BHW.WA), a unit of Citigroup Inc. (C) Wednesday said its consolidated net profit rose 32% in the third quarter to 285.3 million zlotys ($98.7 million) due to a strong core business performance. The bank's net interest income rose 12% in the third quarter, to PLN376.3 million, while its fees and commissions income fell slightly by 0.3% on the year to PLN149.7 million. In addition, Handlowy posted a strong profit on financial operations, of PLN115.4 million. Citibank (C) holds a 75% stake in Citibank Handlowy.
