MARLBOROUGH, Mass., Nov. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX) has received a score of 100 percent on the 2016 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. This is the second consecutive year Boston Scientific has been named as one of the "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality."

"We are very proud to have again earned top marks in the Corporate Equality Index," said Dan Brennan, executive vice president and chief financial officer, Boston Scientific, and chair of the company's Global Council for Inclusion. "Embracing and exemplifying inclusiveness extends throughout our business. We believe a truly inclusive work environment is a better, more rewarding place to work and are committed to continuing to promote equality and inclusion at Boston Scientific," Brennan added.

The 2016 CEI report rated 1,024 businesses on LGBT-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. In addition to its workplace policies, Boston Scientific also supports LGBT equality through its People Accepting and Celebrating Equality (PACE) Employee Resource Group, a network of Boston Scientific LGBT employees and allies that works to foster professional growth and employee engagement.

Today's announcement is one of several recent recognitions that Boston Scientific has received for its corporate initiatives. In October, the company was recognized by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and ranked 13th on the organization's 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces List this year – one of only three healthcare companies to be included in the top 25. Boston Scientific was also among 100 organizations to be named Designated Health Champions by the American Diabetes Association for its commitment to creating a culture of health and wellness in the workplace and supporting healthy lifestyles for employees.
