LONDON--Engineering, project management and consultancy firm Amec Foster Wheeler PLC (AMFW.LN) said Wednesday it has been awarded a five-year 50 million pound ($74.64 million) maintenance contract by BP PLC (BP.LN).

Under the contract Amec will provide operations, maintenance and project support for the Forties pipeline system, which includes the Unity offshore platform and onshore pumping stations in Aberdeenshire and Perthshire, and the central area transmission system terminal in Teesside, north-east England.

Amec shares at 1010 GMT up 22 pence, or 2.39%, at 942 pence valuing the company at GBP3.66 billion.
