For over 30 years, GIE+ EXPO, North America's biggest lawn and garden equipment event, has been an opportunity for exhibitors to showcase new and innovative products with industry professionals and enthusiasts. One of the most coveted awards of GIE+ EXPO is PET Magazine's Dealers' Choice Awards, which features the top innovative products in six categories - accessory/attachment, business services, handheld, industrial/engine, recreation/ATV and wheeled - chosen by nearly 600 Power Equipment trade dealer readers and other qualified dealers.

"The new Vanguard BIG BLOCK engines with EFI use EFI technology to specifically enhance the application that they power. This engine has the added advantage of offering a user-driven set of service solutions as well as the industry's only hands on EFI service education and training classes," says Briggs & Stratton commercial power marketing manager Jim Cross. "Vanguard's BIG BLOCK EFI engines provide a complete solution to landscape contractors for enhanced power, efficiency and productivity. We are pleased that this innovative technology has received such prestigious recognition that reinforces the effectiveness of these engines."

BIG BLOCK engines are designed for the toughest mowing jobs, powering commercial mowers with 54-inch cutting decks and larger.

The new EFI technology is available in its 33 and 37 gross horsepower1 BIG BLOCK engines. It features an automotive-based closed-loop EFI system for up to 25 percent better fuel economy compared to the already-efficient carbureted BIG BLOCK engines.2 EFI engines use less fuel than carbureted engines because fuel in an EFI system is delivered precisely where and when needed, so fuel flow is less under certain conditions.

Like the Vanguard 810 EFI engine, the BIG BLOCK EFI engine offers unique diagnostic features to arm fleet or dealer technicians with an abundance of information to eliminate downtime and optimize engine performance. Three diagnostics options will enable easy identification of issues in the field, and provide technicians unmatched ability to test, update, save and share engine data. These include in-field blink codes, supported by Vanguard's exclusive Power Code; a Tiny Scan reader that can be plugged into the service port to display error codes; and a cable connecting the ECU to a computer for a deeper dive into engine data.

1 All power levels are stated gross horsepower at 3600 RPM per SAE J1940 as rated by Briggs & Stratton.
2 Savings will vary based on cutting conditions and operator usage.
