Dow Jones News
Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) will, over the next four months,
phase out four surgical mesh products used to treat pelvic collapse
in women, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.
The Food and Drug Administration has ordered new studies of the
products as it has received hundreds of reports of complications
related to the implants, according to earlier reports.
Pelvic-mesh products products, also made by companies including
Boston Scientific Corp. (BSX) and C.R. Bard Inc. (BCR), are also at
the center of lawsuits in New Jersey and West Virginia.
