BB&T, Toronto-Dominion In Talks To Buy Florida's BankUnited: Sources - Bloomberg News

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES BB&T Corp. (BBT) and Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) are among companies in talks to buy BankUnited Inc., Florida's second-biggest bank, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing unnamed sources. BankUnited has asked for offers by Jan. 18 and intends to finalize the sale in two weeks, the report on the Bloomberg website said. No further details were immediately available and spokespeople for BankUnited and BB&T couldn't be reached for comment while a Toronto-Dominion spokeswoman declined comment, the report said.
