HONG KONG--BOC Aviation Ltd. (2588.HK) said Tuesday its unit has agreed to buy 13 Boeing 737 MAX8 aircraft from Boeing Co. (BA), saying the deal is in line with the firm's growth strategy including investment in modern aircraft.

The aircraft operating-leasing company said the current list price of the aircraft totaled US$1.43 billion. But it added there is a significant difference between the list price and the actual purchase price of the aircraft. The acquisition will be funded by cash on hand, the proceeds of loans or other borrowings by the company, it said.
