BEIJING -- Three Chinese companies have signed deals to buy 300 Boeing Co. aircraft as part of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the U.S., official media said on Wednesday.

The purchasers included China Aviation Supplies Holding Co. as well as the plane-leasing arms of Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd. and policy bank China Development Bank, according to the official Xinhua News Agency. It said the companies signed the deals on Tuesday in the U.S., where Mr. Xi has just kicked off a state visit.

Xinhua didn't disclose the types of planes or financial details.

It also said Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China struck a deal with Boeing to build an aircraft completion center in China. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that Boeing was seeking to assuage employee concerns over the plant, where workers will paint the fuselage and install seats and inflight entertainment systems.
