Boeing Co. has finalized an order with U.K. airliner Jet2.com for 27 Next Generation 737-800s, to be delivered over the next two years.

The order is valued at $2.6 billion at current list prices, though buyers typically enjoy steep discounts on large deals.

This is Jet2.com's first direct order from Boeing, though it already has a Boeing fleet of almost 60 aircraft.

Jet2.com, a unit of Dart Group PLC, plans to use the new aircraft for flights to leisure destinations in the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and Europe.

Separately, Dart Group on Thursday said it will beat fiscal 2016 earnings targets due to strong demand for its package holidays and consequent increase in passenger traffic for the budget airline.
