EVA Airways To Buy 3 Boeing Passenger Jets For US$930 Million

TAIPEI -(Dow Jones)- EVA Airways Corp. (2618.TW), Taiwan's second-largest airline by revenue after China Airlines Ltd., said Tuesday it will purchase three Boeing Co. (BA) 777-300ER passenger jets for US$930 million. EVA has in recent months stepped up efforts to expand its fleet and replace its less fuel-efficient aircraft, as travel across the Taiwan Strait is increasing. The airline has recently joined the Star Alliance, the world's biggest airline group.
