California American Water distributed 700 turkeys to local
non-profits as part of its annual “Operation Gobble” program. The
turkeys were donated to the Monterey County Food Bank, Salvation
Army and Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC), who in
turn will distribute them to those in need. California American
Water employees will also volunteer to help serve the annual meal
hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs on Wednesday, November 18.
“The partnership with California American Water is crucial to
the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County; certainly through
the holiday season but also throughout the year,” said BGCMC CEO
and President, Donna Ferraro. “California American Water supports
conservation efforts at the Clubs, they provide education and
support programming for our kids. They are valued community
partners!”
Captain Paul Swain of the Salvation Army in Seaside commented,
“A big thank you is due to California American Water for their
Turkey donation. The Salvation Army could not do what we do during
the holidays without the help of partners like California American
Water. Their example and heart for the community is so
appreciated.”
“We do our best to support our local community organizations
throughout the year especially during the holidays,” said
California American Water General Manager Eric Sabolsice. “It’s a
time when we all reflect on just how fortunate we are and how we
might be able to help those in need.”
