Whitton has been named President – Airgas Northern California & Nevada (NCN) Region, reporting to Douglas Jones, President – Airgas West Division.

“Matt brings to his new role more than 15 years of proven leadership experience and a track record of success at Airgas, most recently as Area Vice President in our West Region’s Los Angeles area,” said Jones. “He has successfully developed Airgas’ value proposition and grown sales in the critical Los Angeles market. I’m confident that he will continue his success as he advances into his role as President of the NCN region.”

Since 2009, Whitton has served as Area Vice President of the north and east Los Angeles area in the Airgas West Region with responsibility for the area’s financial, operational, and safety performance. Prior to that, he served in the West Region as Vice President – Gases for two years and Regional Director – Safety Sales also for two years, and for one year as National Sales Effectiveness Manager, assessing and implementing Company-wide sales force tools and strategies. He joined Airgas in 1999 as a District Manager in the West Region.

Prior to Airgas, Whitton spent ten years with BOC Gases as a Distribution Sales Manager in City of Industry, CA. Whitton holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from University of Redlands in Redlands, CA.

The Airgas NCN Region serves Northern California and Nevada through more than 40 locations and a fleet of nearly 200 vehicles.
