SEATTLE, April 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Every time a
Seattle Mariners player hits a home run at Safeco Field during the
2015 season, Alaska Airlines will donate air miles to Make-A-Wish®
of Alaska and Washington to help make "Wishes" come true for
children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The Home Runs for Wishes program is part of Alaska
Airlines' long-term role as the exclusive domestic airline of the
Seattle Mariners.
This season, Alaska Airlines will donate 10,000 Alaska Airlines
Mileage Plan miles for every Mariners home run. Donated air miles
provide a significant savings to Make-A-Wish as it fulfills
requests. In the five years since the Home Runs for
Wishes program began, Alaska Airlines has donated more
than six million airline miles for Wish Kids and their
families.
As the Mariners' "Hometown Airline," Alaska Airlines is giving
fans a chance to go "On the Road with the Mariners" by registering
to win an Alaska Airlines trip for two to Anaheim to see the
Mariners play the Los Angeles Angels, and meet All-Star second
baseman Robinson Cano. The contest
will be open from April 24 to May 29.
Check mariners.com later this month for information on how to
enter.
Alaska Airlines helps bring Mariners Baseball into the homes of
fans across the Northwest as the presenting sponsor of the Mariners
Radio Network, which reaches Mariners fans across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska
and British Columbia during the
162 game regular season and Spring Training broadcasts.
Alaska Airlines also presents the ROOT SPORTS High Speed
Super Slow Mo cameras in all 2015 Seattle Mariners regular season
telecasts. The "ALASKA SUPER-MO"
will provide viewers with the definitive view of replays of amazing
plays and close calls, including umpire reviews of contested
calls.
ROOT SPORTS utilizes two High Speed Super Slow Motion
cameras at Safeco Field that shoot between 360 and 600 frames per
second. The ALASKA SUPER-MO is
just one of the elements ROOT SPORTS utilizes to make
Seattle Mariners telecasts the best production in regional
sports.
The Mariners and Alaska Airlines have been corporate partners
since 2001.
