HELSINKI -(Dow Jones)- Finland's Nokia Corp. (NOK), the world's largest mobile-phone maker by volume, Friday said it had completed the transfer of 2,300 Symbian software-development employees located in China, Finland, India, U.K. and the U.S. to consulting company Accenture PLC (ACN). Nokia had previously announced plans to transfer 2,800 Symbian employees to the consulting firm, after it decided earlier this year to scrap its Symbian platform and concentrate its efforts on an alliance with Microsoft Corp. (MSFT), using its Windows operating system in all new Nokia smartphones. "As we worked through the consultations a number of people were redeployed within Nokia, or they accepted other roles outside of Nokia and Accenture," a Nokia spokesman, Tomi Koppelomaki, told Dow Jones Newswires. -By Arild Moen; Dow Jones Newswires; +358-9-2516 6279; arild.moen@dowjones.com
