stocks slumped, with the Dow losing 108.75 points to 17840.62.
New investments by major energy companies are offering signs

Hostess Brands plans to list on the stock market this fall as
part of a deal valuing the firm at $2.3 billion.
The FDA approved a heart stent developed by Abbott Laboratories
that dissolves within two to three years.
Medivation said it had signed confidentiality agreements with
several suitors, including Sanofi.
