Airbus Executive: Aim To Keep Aircraft Deliveries As Flat As Possible

SYDNEY -(Dow Jones)- Airbus hopes to keep its aircraft deliveries as flat as possible in 2010 compared with 2009, an executive with the company said Wednesday. The European aircraft manufacturer, a unit of European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co.'s (5730.FR), will provide a forecast in January of its deliveries in 2010, said John Leahy, chief operating officer - customers, at Airbus. "The goal would be to try and keep it as flat as possible", Leahy told Dow Jones Newswires, referring to aircraft deliveries in 2010. He reiterated that Airbus expects to deliver at least the same number of aircraft in 2009 as the 483 it delivered in 2008, and possibly as many as 500 aircraft. -By Ross Kelly, Dow Jones Newswires; 61-2-8272-4692; ross.kelly@dowjones.com
