NSM Mortgage servicing company pps will be booming x10 in 10 years:
Mortgage market going up in the future!!!

Nationstar Mortgage Holdings Inc. (NSM) has agreed to acquire roughly $10.4 billion in residential mortgage servicing rights from Bank of America Corp. (BAC) in a co-investment with Newcastle Investment Corp. (NCT).
As a mortgage servicer, Nationstar provides administrative functions on loans that are held by banks, government organizations, private investment funds and other owners of mortgage loans and securities. It earns revenue based primarily on the unpaid principal balance of loans serviced.
The company said Tuesday that the servicing portfolio being acquired from Bank of America consists entirely of loans in government-sponsored enterprise, or GSE, pools.
Nationstar noted it will fund a portion of the purchase price with $44 million co-investment being made by Newcastle that gives it the right to receive 65% of the monthly cash flow generated by the mortgage servicing rights.
Further financial details weren't disclosed.
Nationstar went public in March in a lackluster debut on the New York Stock Exchange. While most residential mortgage loan servicing is concentrated among a few banks, Nationwide is a non-bank servicer, and has said it believes the industry is shifting away from banks toward non-bank servicers as banks seek to exit the business, which can be volatile and capital-intensive.
Shares closed Monday at $19.53 and were inactive premarket. The stock is up 40% from its $14 IPO price.

$200/pps possibility?

Nat Semi (NSM) -- they needed someone to grab them and clean then up. Texas Instruments was a fine choice so they could consolidate into a nice little powerhouse.

Analysts spar on National Semiconductor's margin potential after strong fiscal 4th-qtr results

NEW YORK (AP) -- Analysts took differing views Friday on National Semiconductor Corp.'s margin potential a day after the company posted strong fiscal fourth-quarter results above Wall Street's expectations.

Jefferies & Co. analyst John Lau praised the results and noted the $83.2 million profit was aided by cost control, strong manufacturing and a 65.9 percent gross margin.

In the second half of this year, however, the company may find its sales shifting toward the consumer business, which would shrink gross margins, he said.

"We believe that gross margins were at a peak for the quarter and should realign with average analog sector gross margins going forward," said Lau, who kept a "Hold" rating on shares.

Due in part to guidance for fiscal first-quarter sales above analysts' views, Lau boosted his price target to $22 from $19, implying he expects the stock to slip about 3 percent over Thursday's $22.66 close.

Yet JPMorgan analyst Christopher Danely said gross margins have nowhere to go but up and predicted they may hit 65 percent in the fiscal second quarter and march toward 67 percent by 2010.

"National continues to focus on growing its higher margin analog business and represents a successful example among semiconductor companies on business restructuring along with flawless execution toward a higher quality business model," Danely said in a note to clients.

Danely rates shares "Overweight."

A company representative was not immediately available for comment.

National Semiconductor Corp chief executive officer Brian Halla said on Thursday that demand for mobile phones is holding up even as the economy slows.

"So far, people keep buying," Halla told Bloomberg Television. "There is caution out there, especially when kids have to face a choice of taking five dollars and putting it towards a new cellphone or buying one gallon of gas."

National Semiconductor, the maker of chips for devices such as Apple Inc's iPhone, gets more than a third of its sales from mobile-phone companies.

A tighter credit market and record oil prices hadn't hurt wireless demand yet, Halla said. That contrasts with predictions this month from Texas Instruments Inc and Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications Ltd.

Texas Instruments, which is the second-largest maker of chips for mobile phones after Qualcomm Inc, cut its sales and profit forecast on March 10, citing slowing demand for phones that download music and access the Internet. The next week, Sony Ericsson, the world's fourth-largest handset maker, said first-quarter earnings and revenue would fall because of slower handset sales.

Halla, 61, is facing stalling revenue growth. On March 6, he forecast fiscal fourth-quarter sales of up to US$460 million, a 1 percent gain from a year earlier.

Halla, a former Intel Corp executive who has led National Semiconductor for more than a decade, said on Thursday that the company's revenue from mobile phones is a good indicator of the health of the overall economy.

"A lot of people got together and said that the sky was falling in," Halla said. "We watched the cellphone market and people kept buying them."
