My 2012 Pig of the Year award goes to…

The temptation is to award this to those who (illegally) accessed what they thought was my home address and sent a malicious, inaccurate and spiteful lawyers letter (hence matter settled at no cost to me) to a Mr T Winnifrith who happened to be my aged and rather infirm father. It is only because I do not wish to upset him further that I have not yet taken this matter to the authorities. I know that those responsible receive this newsletter and hope that as they enjoy the Christmas break they consider just why Santa did not bring them anything this year. For this action I shall never forgive them. Christmas or no Christmas this was beyond the pale.

But although those folk are swine of the highest order, and although there are many other contenders for the 2012 Pig of the Year. But there can only be one winner: ex MP Margaret Moran. As a reminder: this woman stole £53,000 from the taxpayer by illegally claiming false expenses. She has paid back just £6,000 of that despite being found guilty in a court of law.

She did not go to prison because she claimed that she was suffering from acute depression and the wimp of a judge bought that line.

This woman has a multi house property portfolio worth £1 million. But claims that she cannot find the £47,000 she still owes the taxpayer.

And after all of this she has, without remorse, accepted a £25,000 golden goodbye from the taxpayer because she did not contest her seat at the last election because she was, at that time already exposed as a sleazebag.

Next time you hear an MP talking about “rewarding failure” remember that £25,000 golden goodbye. Remember that MPs have set up a system whereby you can stand down in disgrace, owing your employer money you have stolen and still get a huge payoff. That says it all about the entire political class.

But Moran played the sleaze game to the full. She is almost certainly still on a Westminster pension. Despite her vast wealth she will not pay back the money she stole. Margaret Moran is not only a thief but is also the my pig of the year 2012.

  1. Ken says:

Spot on there are so many (politicians want for a polite word to describe them!!) contenders its a crying shame that the rest are allowed to remain in public office or outside of jail.
    Great choice.
Kind Regards Ken ( one of many who have been raped & pillaged in this country

  2. linda hamilton says:

Well said. Until the Laws of this Country are the same for everyone we will never prosper. They can stop us speaking of some issues publicly, but they can not stop us voicing our thoughts privately. The Law, once the envy of the world is a joke now. A law without justice.

  3. Kate Cosans says:

If any of her constituents were found to benefit financially from criminal activity, their goods and bank accounts could be seized. Dare we ask if Mrs Mason will also be subject to the Proceeds of Crime Act(POCA)?

  4. Patsi Waite says:

Please do not use the word pig to describe human wrong doers. Pigs are wonderful and intelligent animals, much abused by intensive farming.
Why do we have to denigrate animals to describe people? Bitch, cow etc. Can we not come up with another name?
What about sum, scumbag or scroat?

  5. Marc says:

So Patsi Waite, you think it would be better to call them part of the male genitalia? Feminism going mad as usual I see….how about we just call them Vaginas?
