WICHITA, Kan., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- In July of 1971 -- exactly 33 1/3 years
ago -- Sullivan Higdon & Sink (SHS) was founded in Wichita, Kan., as an
advertising, public relations and marketing agency. That same year, T. Rex
released the classic "Electric Warrior" LP, General Foods introduced Grape
Tang, IBM unveiled the floppy disk, and Soul Train premiered.
Today, 33 1/3 years later, only SHS is still going strong.
To commemorate its 33 1/3 anniversary, the agency is running its own radio
station -- WSHS-FM radio on 103.3 for 33 1/3 hours in the Wichita area. On Nov. 15, the station will continuously play "Bang a Gong," by T. Rex, the 1971 hit
song from the "Electric Warrior" LP.
Today, SHS has expanded into three offices in Wichita, Kansas City and
Washington, D.C., and is known for producing award-winning work. Seth Godin,
best-selling business author and columnist for Fast Company, included SHS in
his BullMarket 2004 e-book -- a resource for connecting organizations with some
of the world's most creative thinkers.
