Loteria Electronica de Puerto Rico Announces Intent to Negotiate Online Lottery Contract

WEST GREENWICH, R.I., May 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GTECH Holdings Corporation was notified today by Loteria Electronica de Puerto Rico of its intent to negotiate a contract to provide equipment and services for a new online lottery system, terminals, and associated telecommunications network with another vendor.

GTECH has provided online lottery products and services to Loteria Electronica since 1990. In Loteria Electronica's most recent fiscal year, online ticket sales reached $340 million. GTECH's current contract with Loteria Electronica is set to expire on March 15, 2005. Loteria Electronica contributes approximately $20 million to GTECH's annual revenues.
