Hong Kong-listed CNOOC says appraisal at Weizhou well completed

HONG KONG (AFX) - CNOOC Ltd announced it has completed its appraisal of a well in the western South China Sea which, during a drill stem test, registered a flow of over 3,000 barrels of oil and 0.34 mln cubic feet of gas per day through a 17.46 millimeter choke. Zhang Guohua, senior vice-president at CNOOC, said its proximity to another well makes the Weizhou well a "a very attractive discovery."
